Research Interests:
Environment changes and human activities may have severely affected the genetic composition and structure of natural plant populations over time. These predict had been justified by population genetics theories and model simulations, however, not well supported by empirical studies. To verify those disputations, our researches are focused on the population genetics and phytogeography of plants with SW China as the center of diversity, by addressing the following questions:
(1) Does habitat heterogeneity trigger plant genetic differentiation?
(2) Does anthropogenic pressure result in a rapid loss of plant genetic diversity and an elevation of genetic differen-tiation?
