The goal of our research is to understand the molecular basis on the development of seed/endosperm, the biosynthesis/accumulation of seed storage compounds (oil and protein) and seed germination. Specially, we focus on the epigenetic mechanisms underlying seed/endosperm development, which involves DNA methylation, histone modifications and chromatin remodeling.

Besides, we are interested in understanding the relationship between epigenetic variations and genetic variations, and uncovering the epigenetic basis of key agronomic traits or adaptation, which will lay a foundation for future epigenetic variation-trait associations and crop breeding.
