Major research interests include 1) biogeography of disjunct distribution of plant taxa in Northern Hemisphere, with emphasis on Pistacia, Rhus, Cotinus of Anacardiaceae; Hamamelis of Hamamelidaceae; Aralia and Panax of Araliaceae; Rosa and Malus of Rosaceae; 2) reconstruct tree of life of Pentapetalae and Rosales; 3) domestication of Chinese crops and conservation of genetic diversification.
