In recent three years, our group has investigated the traditional botanical knowledge of several ethnic groups, and documented their traditional medicinal or edible plants. Over 200 species and their associated traditional knowledge have been recorded and documented. These ethnobotanical inventories provided rich information and resources for conservation and sustainable uses of local plant resources and traditional cultures.
To evaluate the traditional botanical knowledge and plant genetic resources we collected in the past 3 years, we investigated the chemical constituents and bioactivity of some selected species. The approaches of phytochemistry and pharmacology were adopted in the evaluations. Some results were published in international peer-reviewed journals or patented.
